4. Flannel & Sweater Fabric Pumpkins
Soft textiles bring cozy layers to fall living rooms. Upcycling dollar store flannel shirts, cozy knit socks, or dollar store plush throws into stuffed pumpkins creates plush textural accents.
- Supplies: Inexpensive knit socks or flannel scarves, fiberfill or cotton balls, rubber bands, jute twine, real cinnamon sticks.
- How to Make: Cut off the toe section of a plush knit sock or cut an 8-inch fabric circle from a flannel scarf. Stuff the center generously with fiberfill until you have a plump ball. Gather the top edges together and secure tightly with a rubber band. To create the pumpkin’s natural ridges, wrap jute twine around the stuffed ball, crisscrossing over the center four times and pulling gently to form segmented wedges. Finish by inserting a real cinnamon stick in the center with a dot of hot glue.
