2. Twine & Jute Rope Acorn Accents

Oversized decorative acorns add tactile warmth to shallow bowls, entryway trays, or tiered stands. Using dollar store plastic Easter eggs as the base, you can craft organic woodland acorns using natural fibers.

  • Supplies: Plastic snap-together eggs, brown/cream chalk paint, jute twine, dried acorn caps (or cut burlap/pinecone scales), hot glue.
  • How to Make: Paint the bottom half of the plastic egg in a soft cream or muted mustard tone, or wrap the lower two-thirds snugly with thin jute twine using a glue gun. For the acorn cap, cover the rounded top third with tightly coiled thick braided rope, burlap rosettes, or individual scales clipped from a pinecone. Cluster three to five in a wooden bowl with miniature faux pinecones for an effortless table accent.
