8. The Kaftan Dress (Boho Modest Style)
The kaftan is a loose, tunic-like dress that originated in the Middle East and North Africa. Modern kaftans are incredibly chic, often featuring embroidery, bell sleeves, and side slits (which can be worn with leggings underneath for modesty).
Why it works: A kaftan literally does not touch your body except at the shoulders. It is the ultimate “hides everything” garment. However, to avoid looking like a sack, choose a kaftan with a drawstring waist or wear a thin belt over it.
